Becoming part of the resistance movement against smoking and tobacco companies is easy, and it starts with you and the environment around you. One of the best things you can do is be smokefree wherever you are.
As Māori, we have a tradition of resisting and fighting against issues that have confronted us. Resisting an industry that profits from Māori death will continue this tradition, and help us find greater strength, independence and self-determination.
Today it's up to us to resist this murder by resisting tobacco, resisting the advertising, resisting the temptation and resisting the addiction to smoking. It's up to us to reclaim Auahi Kore for Māori.
